BLING IT ON

Hi everyone. Well I missed the last Fussy and Fancy Challenge so I set to and made this one for the next challenge which is Bling and more bling! I made this by cutting a square of card that fitted an A5 card and with my splodge mask distressed with Peacock Feathers. I did this twice. This was then mounted onto silver mirri board. I then cut another one down to a third of its size and again mounted on mirri board. The square was mounted onto the left of the A5 card in a landscape position.I stamped a lace pattern onto the blank pieces to the right, again in Peacock feathers. I then glued the lace where they joined. useing foam pads I attached the second piece of card in a landscape poition but lineing up to the right. I had previously stamped and coloured with pro markers a saturated canary stamp and cut out with an x cut die. I glittered part of her dress. and put pearls around the corners. this is then attached to centre of square useing foam pads. To complete I put sticky back gems around the backing card.

Hope you like.

PEARLS AND LACE

Well they say the early bird catches the worn but it seems I have been the cows tail!!!! I thought that as our Sam was hosting the Fussy and Fancy challenge and the theme she had chosed was lace and pearls I would give it a shot. I knew it must be coming to a close but I busted a gut (excuse the expresion) to do a card and this is the result.

Went to put it on the challenge and it wase closed!!!! Oh well. Better luck next time.x
To make this card I stamped a lace border  stamp on black card with  versamark and embossed in white. this was repeated down the card.
I then glued real cotton lace around the edges and finished with a pearl in each corner. The cameo was a die cut in black glitter that I embellished with pearls in the hat, earring and necklace. This was then glused to card over a feather and a flurish attached then embellished with pearls. Hope you like.

Hi ladies and gentleman. Over on the SplodgeAway blog they are showcaseing some of Sams and my cards that we made for Create and Craft this month. Sue was rather partial to this one and suggested I do a tutorial for it. I was actually quite simple.

Material needed

Flower border mask from this months show.
Lilac pearl card
Border Punch
White Ribbon
Mica Powders
Double sided sticky paper.
Flower of your choice ( Mine was made with air dry clay and a mold then coloured with Mica Powder and silver guilding wax)

I cut a strip of sticky paper just slightly wider that the mask and after takeing off the protective paper on one side stuck the mask over it ( It can help to dust the mask with either anti static powder or rub with a tumble drier sheet, this helps release the mask easier)
I then dusted various colours of mica over the exposed sticky area. I then peeled off the mask and the repeated the process.
I cut a strip of lilac pearlised card and punched along each side with a decorative punch and after takeing the backing off then stuck my border onto it.

If you repeat this process twice and then glu onto a landscape A5 card leaving an even border top and bottom.
To finish I coloured some white ribbon with shaded lilac distress Ink and wrappedaround top border and tied bow and then glued flower to centre.

Hi everyone well I have emerged, nearly, from my crafting binge after having been dormant for a while. I have so much I want to and need to do. I have been busy makeing cards for Kirsten Lapping Designs and for Splodge Away. Yes Splodge away is back on our TV screens on Friday 24th May at 1am and 6pm. A double dose!!!!!!! I hope night shift are on standbye as I know this is going to be a good one. Its so hard not to tell.lolx Watch out on my blog and the Splodge Away blog after the show for a preview of all the design teams work that they did for the show. I know Tom tries his hardest to get as many shown as possilble and give credit but its not always easy. We must all give Hazel a great big welcome as she has her debut on Friday doing Toms demos as our lovely Maria Simms had to step down due to other commitments. I know everyone will be wishing her well.

Go to the splodge Away blog to see more.   http://splodgeaway.blogspot.co.uk/

Dear me I havent been on so long my fingers are running away with me. I will stop now and just tell you a little about the card I am sharing with you. I hope Kirsten wont mind as its one I have done for her and she hasnt seen it yet! ( Oh dear am I in trouble)

I have combined it with a Splodge Away bamboo  mask as they seemed to compliment each other so well. I ran the mask throught he embossing machine and then coloured with a combination of distressed inks in squeezed lemon, tattered rose and wild honey. Then I used Kirstens oriental stamps for the images. It was finished off with a little of Kirsten Lappings glitter and some sticky back gems around the corner. I then mounted on black card for some definition.

Hello everyone! what a lazy blogger have I been. I know I should do it more often but I dont like to blog unless I have a new pic to show you and I havent had that many. the reason is that I just have been feeling 100% and seemed to have lost my mojo and what i have done has been for design team so cant share till after the show. what I will say though is that the new masks that I have seen so far are awesome. Some a little bit off the wall for the altered art people out there as well. Thats all I can say for now. ( Spoil sport I know)  Anyway feeling more like myself, mojo back and off we go again. The card I am sharing with you today is one I made for my daughter birthday and she is a cat lover. the images were printed from a Do crafts CD Tulip and friends. Made a change from masks and inks, Hope you like it. Sally did.x

Good Morning everyone. Well I thought that it would be nice to share will you some great news. I know |Kirsten has announced this but she honoured me by asking if I would design for Kirsten lapping designs. They make the most wonderful Embossing powders and Ultra Fine glitters. Of course I said yes. Bearing this in  mind when I was makeing samples for Splodge Away I thought I would combine the two as I knew they would make perfect partners. The above project was made by useing double sided sticky paper. I dusted the mask with a tumble drier sheet and then stuck it to a piece of double sided sticky paper that was the same size. I then poured black glitter over the exposed areas of the mask. after dusting off the excess I then carefully peeled back the mask and covered the rest of the pattern with white glitter. This gave me the finished background effect.I then embellished with hand made flowers, ribbon and a from Dawn till dusk embellishment which I had coloured with silver embossing powder also from Kirsten Lapping Designs. It gives the most dramatic effect. Well I think so anyway and I hope you agree. Why not take a look at Kirstens Web site and see the wonderful selection of products she has available. I can really particularly recommende the embossing poweder. its amazing. When embossed its bendable and doesnt crack and can be punched
into or ran through an embossing machine. Watch this space for more.

ANOTHER SAMPLE FROM C&C

Today I thought I would share with you a card made out of a combination of two sets of Splodge Away masks. I have to say that this was not one of Toms favourites ( I think it was the girlie colours, haha)  but when I make the samples I line them up along the piano so I can be critical and my hubby can see what I make. This was one of his favs. This just goes to show how our tasts vary so we have to adapt styles to suit all which is always what I try to do. The backing paper was made from one set and then the butterly wreath embossed and cut around the outside. To get a good even cut in the centre I used a die cut circle. They were then both coloured with pan pastels. I embellished it with flowers made from a CD and the butterfly was made useding the largest butterfly creater cut out in shrink plastic. Stamped with a flower stamp for texture then coloured and shrunk. Wallah.x

Birthday Kit

The Butterfly kit went down a storm at create and craft but I loved the birthday one and this is one of the samples I did. The mask was embossed and then distressed around the outside with fired brick then a little worker stamp I have in was kit was stamped around with momento coloured ink ( Forget the name) This was then mounted on black and then red.
Hope you are all manageing with this wind and dont have any damage caused by it.  I am going to stay in as I have a rotten heavy head cold kindly given to me by Mr Splodge Away Tom Johnson. Thanks tom!!!! An excuse to do more  crafting me thinks.

LOADS OF SPARKLE

Good mornign everyone. well I was going to go pay a visit to a friend today and take her some flowers as she has had a rough time lately but have you heard the wind out there!!!!!!!

Also Splodgy tom has passed his germs on and I am now Sneezey Kay.lolx

While I was braceing myself to go out I thought I would just share with you another card sample that I made for last weeks show.

I love this technique and I think if I am not careful every card I make may be made like this!

It is so simple yet so effective.

To make I got a piece of double sided sticky paper and placed the birthday cake mask on top ( Oh nearly forgot. Most important wipe the mask with a tumble drier sheet as if you dont it gets a bit traumatic tryintg to remove it.) Then cover all the exposed area with a coloured glitter of your choice. Carefully remove the mask and then glitter the sticky area left with a contrasting colour. DONE! How easy is that. To complete I added some pearls and ribbon down the side.

The only downside to this is that people see you comeing for days after as you sparkle!!! lolx
Well will have to go.
See you soon

BUTTERFLY AND HEARTS FLOURISH

Hi bloggers jsut thought I would share with you another card that I made for Splodge Away. this one didnt get any air time but was one of my favourites

To make this card I cut a piece of one of my 12x12 patterened papers down to 8x8. Its hard to tell but it was greyish in colour and had two birds and some flourishes on. I then disstressed round the edges with Adirondack Butterscotch. I then got the butterfly flourish mask, plced it over the card randomly and gently inked with Adirondack Butterscoth for the butterlies and Lettuce for the stems. I then inked my mask with Versamark, placed it centrally on the paper and put through my e bosser. Useing Kirsten Lapping Design Copper embossing powder and copper glitter mixed I sprinkled over the embossed area and heated with the heat gun. This I think gave a wonderful effect. I then stamped a Butterfly Kisses sentiment on the bottom and embossed that in the copper. The flower was made from and x cut die that was cut in a toening patterned paper, constructed and then the centre embossed with same copper mixture. I then went around the edges of the card with versamark and sprinkled the copper mixture on again and heat embossed. I was so pleased with the result and have had a lot of positive feed back about it. Create and Craft loved it too.

FLITTER AND GLITTER

Hi bloggers. Well this is just a quick post as I am absolutely shattered after a long long day but have to say an amazing one. I left home at 3-45 this morning to meet Tom from Splodge Away and we then travelled to the Create and Craft Studio where he had a show scheduled for 10am this morning. Everyone was so nice, the crew producers etc and also some of the other guests who had shows that day. I even got a few seconds of fame as when we were setting up Toms show Nigel who was filming the one before at the time pointed out we were there and said hello. ( Unbeknown to me the cameras had turned onto us. I guess I will never see it myself but maybe some of you saw it and can tell me. I thought I would share this card with you as it was well loved. I made it useing double sided sticky paper. I used a tumble drier sheet to dust the mask before placeing in onto the paper. then rubbed flitter flakes into the exposed sticky areas. I then carefully peeled of the mask and then applied ultra fine silver glitter the the rest of the sticky areas and walla the finished design. All I then had to do was apply the flowers and ribbon. I must say that I like to make my own flowers but these were bought one with liquid pearls for the centres.
Well I am about to retire now and catch up on some lost sleep.

CHRISTENING CARDS

Hi crafty bloggers out there I need your help. Is there ever a subject that you often get stumped on when trying to make a card for it. Well I was well challenged this week as I thought I had 3 cards to make for a christening. Well I dont like the very religiously looking ones and prefer a more modern approach. I just didnt realise how hard it is to get images for this. The first one I made was with Splodge Aways Holly hands mask. I inked it and then typed a sentiment on the compueter, printed and cut out with a die cut. It was then layered up with ribbon and baby shoes to embellish.

For my second one I reverted back to my first love decoupage. After trawling through discs and finding nothing I decided that I was goin to have to go down a diffentt road of thought when I spotted my Peter Rabbit CD and the above is the end result. I t was matted and layered and trimmed with lace and pearl bows.
|Let me know if you have a subject that you find hard to craft .

C&C samples for Splodge Away

Good mornign everyone. Well in case you havent seen Susan and Tom from Splodge Away have showcased my cards I made for the last show on Create and Craft. I am so pleased that they have done this as I didnt get to photgraph all of my samples so couldnt share with you myself. I have chosen Susans favourite card from this range to share with you today. Often the simplest are the best. I found it hard to chose my favs. I had a few. I like the black and white flourish but also the bird cage and gates. The gates and bird cage were a real labour of love as I made the crackled background for the gates myself and then embossed the image and cut the gates out. Took a full afternoon but I was pleased with the result.
If you havent already seen them why not pop over to the Spldge Away blog

Hobby Art Daisy Stamp with Perfect Pearls

Good morning everyone. When I was at the Harrogate craft fair I visited the Hobby Art stand. Its a must, to see Jenny Mayes and her lovely daughter Becki. A great team. As always I came away inspired. I can watch Jenny for hours. Her love of stamping and colouring is so apparent when she is demoing. She was useing Perfect pearls and that really got me going. I always have loved mica powders but she gave me a fresh view on them. so I bought her new daisy stamp, came home and this is the result. I have recently been makeing backgrounds with shaving foam and Cosmic shimmer mica sprays. WARNING this is addictive. Anyway I used a piece I had made for the background and then stamped the Daisy stamp to the very left and very right of card in versamark then brushed with Pearl perfect pearls. I then stamped the main image onto a piece of card I had first distressed with Adirondack pale pink . Next I mixed some pearl mica and dipped crunched up cling film into it and dabbed onto card. I then stamped the Daisy onto the card and painted it with the pearl and filled the middle of the daisies with Wild Honey distress ink. I did also paint in some of the daisies on the background. While I had the paint wet I stamped a load of the daisy heads cut them out and painted those also and then cut them out. The card was then assembled matting and layering on pearlied cardand glueing some of the daises onto finished card.
I had great fun useing all of these techniques and hope you like it.
I am going to enter this into The Fussy and Fancy blog challenge and also send to Hoby Art and hope they are kind enough to put it on the customer gallery.

Good mornign everyone. Well I have had a very entertaining and interesting weekend. I spent a little time chatting to Jenny Mayes from Hobby Art and watched her fabulous demonstrations and after a good mooch met up with Sam another crafting buddy. We then left the show and visited Art from the Heart an absolutely great craft shop not a million miles from the show. We finished the day of with a good chin wag over a hyge cup ot tea. Got home absolutely exausted but a very happy bunny.
Today I am sharing with you some of the samples that I made for Splodge Away from the Holly range. Unfortunatley my pics arent too good and some of the detail is lost but hope you like them. Until later.

SPLODGE AWAY SAMPLE OF TEXTURE MASKS

Good morning bloggeres. Well how much snow have you got. The weather is so strange. Brilliant sunsshine then snow blizzards but thankfully not lying too much. Not here anyway.

Well did you See Splodgy Tom yesterday on the Tool Shed on Create and Craft. What a hectic show that was. I know Tom will be dissapointed that he couldnt show more of the Design Team samples as they had produced some beautiful work. Unfortunatley I hadnt photographed all of mine so until I see Tom again I can only post the ones I did.
Todays are the ones I did with the tecture masks. they were superb. The top one I have to admit threw me a little when I first saw it but it didnt take long to decide what to do with it and I was declighted with the outcome. The stamps I have used are from the DoCrafts gorgous range. They are superb quality stamps and were on offer for 3 for Ten pounds.
The second one was useing Lyndsey Mason stamps purched from Suzicraft and the third one was images printed from a Debbie Moore CD.

I will post more later.
Bye for now and Happy Craftingx

Well good day everyone. I hope. Not so much sunshine today but its peeking out and doesnt it make you feel better.

I thought I would share this thank you card I have made with you. I shouldnt really because the recipient hasnt received it yet! but as everything I am making at the moment is for Tom at Splodge Away. ( His next Show is on March 10th, Mothers Day. Probably on the tool shed but not sure yet) it doesnt seem like I have been doing much and hadnt a lot to share with you. I have made three similar ones for my three friends who I went to France with. As it was my birthday while I was there ( I may have mentioned this alread.lolx) They gave me my present while I was awy with them so I have bought them a little momento and made them a card each. We are having a get together next week so they will recieve them then

As they are not crafting buddies I am hopeing that they wont see this.

The card was obviously inspired by our visit but as coincidence would have it a crafting buddy happened to have a Graphic 45 pad of sepia pics depicting Paris! Guess where they ended up!

Take care everyone.

Another Tag.

Hi crafty friends and any other friends that pop by. I spent some hours down at Suzicraft a couple of days ago and this is what I made while I was there.I bought the Indigo Blue stamp from Suzicraft a couple of days before and was excited to try it out. I firstly stamped the lady with Versamark and then embossed with black wow powder. Next I distressed the tag. Once I was happy with that I used some of the other stamps in the set the finish the card. The swirl is really nice and i shadow stamped that. The Flower was made with my dimesions blooms stamp. coloured and the when glued togethere and dry I bought some narrow purple ribbon from Suzicraft and tied a knot in the end, threaded it through the centre of the flower , I then left a short length of ribbon and threaded other end through hole in tag. The flower therfore is not attached to the card but has movement. For the purpose of the photo I hooked it over the top of the tag so it wouldnt hide the artwork.

Hope you like.

IM BACK

Sorry bloggeers out there that there has been nothing new posted for a couple of weeks. I know you have been looking but my trip away with my buddies Carole, Marilyn, Diane and myself ( In order left to right in the photo threw me into chaos. Firstly I dont do Flying water and tunnels so as you can imagine this was a big thing for me. The solution to the nerves was to go into the buffet car on the Eurostar and get plastered. We did a pretty good job of it. I could sit here and talk for evermore about my trip as it was wonderful. We laughed from start to finish. Thank you my wonderful friends, but I wont bore you as I am sure that most of you have been to far more exotic places than my trip to Paris. Since comeing back it has been hard trying to get back into the swing but I have done a few things and have attached a tag I have have done stamping and colouring with H 2Os. I just love the shimmer effect of these. If you dont have H20s then you can mix mica powder with water and use as paint and get a very similar effect. I finished it off by useing disstress inks around the edge and useing my "Designs by Ryn" water droplet stamp. Hope you like it.

Splodge Away new Sceneit country mask.

This was one of the new masks on Create and Craft yesterday. I saw this one for the first time the day before and had a quick play in Suzicraft but made a mess of the house so I took the mask home and had a go last night. this was the result. So anyone who hasnt used the masks before can see the result you can get without any practice. They are amazing. Thanks Tom. I think I am going to send this one to my cousin in Australia. Now this is a bit risky as she is an artist and does fabulous landscapes so may be very critical as she will look at it with an artist eye!!!!!!

ANOTHER ROCKER!

Another rocker card. Well I couldnt not do one when I had so many wonderful masks to play with. I thought this lent itself to a rocker as I think the image is a young one and I always think of little people when I make a rocker although a lot of my rockers were with adult images. ( Work that one out if you can)

The basics of the rocker card were the same but I rang the large circle through the Grand Calibur useing the star mask then keeping the mask in olace coloured the stars with pan pastels. I embossed the card and coloured it again but this time cut out some of the stars to embellish the stamped image which was a freebie from a stamping magazine.x
