CHRISTENING CARDS

Hi crafty bloggers out there I need your help. Is there ever a subject that you often get stumped on when trying to make a card for it. Well I was well challenged this week as I thought I had 3 cards to make for a christening. Well I dont like the very religiously looking ones and prefer a more modern approach. I just didnt realise how hard it is to get images for this. The first one I made was with Splodge Aways Holly hands mask. I inked it and then typed a sentiment on the compueter, printed and cut out with a die cut. It was then layered up with ribbon and baby shoes to embellish.

For my second one I reverted back to my first love decoupage. After trawling through discs and finding nothing I decided that I was goin to have to go down a diffentt road of thought when I spotted my Peter Rabbit CD and the above is the end result. I t was matted and layered and trimmed with lace and pearl bows.
|Let me know if you have a subject that you find hard to craft .

C&C samples for Splodge Away

Good mornign everyone. Well in case you havent seen Susan and Tom from Splodge Away have showcased my cards I made for the last show on Create and Craft. I am so pleased that they have done this as I didnt get to photgraph all of my samples so couldnt share with you myself. I have chosen Susans favourite card from this range to share with you today. Often the simplest are the best. I found it hard to chose my favs. I had a few. I like the black and white flourish but also the bird cage and gates. The gates and bird cage were a real labour of love as I made the crackled background for the gates myself and then embossed the image and cut the gates out. Took a full afternoon but I was pleased with the result.
If you havent already seen them why not pop over to the Spldge Away blog

You can see all of the design teams work there.

Hobby Art Daisy Stamp with Perfect Pearls

Good morning everyone. When I was at the Harrogate craft fair I visited the Hobby Art stand. Its a must, to see Jenny Mayes and her lovely daughter Becki. A great team. As always I came away inspired. I can watch Jenny for hours. Her love of stamping and colouring is so apparent when she is demoing. She was useing Perfect pearls and that really got me going. I always have loved mica powders but she gave me a fresh view on them. so I bought her new daisy stamp, came home and this is the result. I have recently been makeing backgrounds with shaving foam and Cosmic shimmer mica sprays. WARNING this is addictive. Anyway I used a piece I had made for the background and then stamped the Daisy stamp to the very left and very right of card in versamark then brushed with Pearl perfect pearls. I then stamped the main image onto a piece of card I had first distressed with Adirondack pale pink . Next I mixed some pearl mica and dipped crunched up cling film into it and dabbed onto card. I then stamped the Daisy onto the card and painted it with the pearl and filled the middle of the daisies with Wild Honey distress ink. I did also paint in some of the daisies on the background. While I had the paint wet I stamped a load of the daisy heads cut them out and painted those also and then cut them out. The card was then assembled matting and layering on pearlied cardand glueing some of the daises onto finished card.
I had great fun useing all of these techniques and hope you like it.
I am going to enter this into The Fussy and Fancy blog challenge and also send to Hoby Art and hope they are kind enough to put it on the customer gallery.

TRIBUTE TO HOLLY

Good mornign everyone. Well I have had a very entertaining and interesting weekend. On Friday I travelled to Harrogate with Susan and Jean and spend the night in a caravan ready for the Harrogate Craft Fair on Saturday. Great day there as usual. I spent a little time chatting to Jenny Mayes from Hobby Art and watched her fabulous demonstrations and after a good mooch met up with Sam another crafting buddy. We then left the show and visited Art from the Heart an absolutely great craft shop not a million miles from the show. We finished the day of with a good chin wag over a hyge cup ot tea. Got home absolutely exausted but a very happy bunny.
Today I am sharing with you some of the samples that I made for Splodge Away from the Holly range. Unfortunatley my pics arent too good and some of the detail is lost but hope you like them. Until later.

SPLODGE AWAY SAMPLE OF TEXTURE MASKS

Good morning bloggeres. Well how much snow have you got. The weather is so strange. Brilliant sunsshine then snow blizzards but thankfully not lying too much. Not here anyway.

Well did you See Splodgy Tom yesterday on the Tool Shed on Create and Craft. What a hectic show that was. I know Tom will be dissapointed that he couldnt show more of the Design Team samples as they had produced some beautiful work. Unfortunatley I hadnt photographed all of mine so until I see Tom again I can only post the ones I did.
Todays are the ones I did with the tecture masks. they were superb. The top one I have to admit threw me a little when I first saw it but it didnt take long to decide what to do with it and I was declighted with the outcome. The stamps I have used are from the DoCrafts gorgous range. They are superb quality stamps and were on offer for 3 for Ten pounds.
The second one was useing Lyndsey Mason stamps purched from Suzicraft and the third one was images printed from a Debbie Moore CD.

I will post more later.
Bye for now and Happy Craftingx

Well good day everyone. I hope. Not so much sunshine today but its peeking out and doesnt it make you feel better.

I thought I would share this thank you card I have made with you. I shouldnt really because the recipient hasnt received it yet! but as everything I am making at the moment is for Tom at Splodge Away. ( His next Show is on March 10th, Mothers Day. Probably on the tool shed but not sure yet) it doesnt seem like I have been doing much and hadnt a lot to share with you. I have made three similar ones for my three friends who I went to France with. As it was my birthday while I was there ( I may have mentioned this alread.lolx) They gave me my present while I was awy with them so I have bought them a little momento and made them a card each. We are having a get together next week so they will recieve them then

As they are not crafting buddies I am hopeing that they wont see this.

The card was obviously inspired by our visit but as coincidence would have it a crafting buddy happened to have a Graphic 45 pad of sepia pics depicting Paris! Guess where they ended up!

Take care everyone.
