C&C samples for Splodge Away

Good mornign everyone. Well in case you havent seen Susan and Tom from Splodge Away have showcased my cards I made for the last show on Create and Craft. I am so pleased that they have done this as I didnt get to photgraph all of my samples so couldnt share with you myself. I have chosen Susans favourite card from this range to share with you today. Often the simplest are the best. I found it hard to chose my favs. I had a few. I like the black and white flourish but also the bird cage and gates. The gates and bird cage were a real labour of love as I made the crackled background for the gates myself and then embossed the image and cut the gates out. Took a full afternoon but I was pleased with the result.
If you havent already seen them why not pop over to the Spldge Away blog

You can see all of the design teams work there.

Hobby Art Daisy Stamp with Perfect Pearls

Good morning everyone. When I was at the Harrogate craft fair I visited the Hobby Art stand. Its a must, to see Jenny Mayes and her lovely daughter Becki. A great team. As always I came away inspired. I can watch Jenny for hours. Her love of stamping and colouring is so apparent when she is demoing. She was useing Perfect pearls and that really got me going. I always have loved mica powders but she gave me a fresh view on them. so I bought her new daisy stamp, came home and this is the result. I have recently been makeing backgrounds with shaving foam and Cosmic shimmer mica sprays. WARNING this is addictive. Anyway I used a piece I had made for the background and then stamped the Daisy stamp to the very left and very right of card in versamark then brushed with Pearl perfect pearls. I then stamped the main image onto a piece of card I had first distressed with Adirondack pale pink . Next I mixed some pearl mica and dipped crunched up cling film into it and dabbed onto card. I then stamped the Daisy onto the card and painted it with the pearl and filled the middle of the daisies with Wild Honey distress ink. I did also paint in some of the daisies on the background. While I had the paint wet I stamped a load of the daisy heads cut them out and painted those also and then cut them out. The card was then assembled matting and layering on pearlied cardand glueing some of the daises onto finished card.
I had great fun useing all of these techniques and hope you like it.
I am going to enter this into The Fussy and Fancy blog challenge and also send to Hoby Art and hope they are kind enough to put it on the customer gallery.

TRIBUTE TO HOLLY

Good mornign everyone. Well I have had a very entertaining and interesting weekend. On Friday I travelled to Harrogate with Susan and Jean and spend the night in a caravan ready for the Harrogate Craft Fair on Saturday. Great day there as usual. I spent a little time chatting to Jenny Mayes from Hobby Art and watched her fabulous demonstrations and after a good mooch met up with Sam another crafting buddy. We then left the show and visited Art from the Heart an absolutely great craft shop not a million miles from the show. We finished the day of with a good chin wag over a hyge cup ot tea. Got home absolutely exausted but a very happy bunny.
Today I am sharing with you some of the samples that I made for Splodge Away from the Holly range. Unfortunatley my pics arent too good and some of the detail is lost but hope you like them. Until later.

SPLODGE AWAY SAMPLE OF TEXTURE MASKS

Good morning bloggeres. Well how much snow have you got. The weather is so strange. Brilliant sunsshine then snow blizzards but thankfully not lying too much. Not here anyway.

Well did you See Splodgy Tom yesterday on the Tool Shed on Create and Craft. What a hectic show that was. I know Tom will be dissapointed that he couldnt show more of the Design Team samples as they had produced some beautiful work. Unfortunatley I hadnt photographed all of mine so until I see Tom again I can only post the ones I did.
Todays are the ones I did with the tecture masks. they were superb. The top one I have to admit threw me a little when I first saw it but it didnt take long to decide what to do with it and I was declighted with the outcome. The stamps I have used are from the DoCrafts gorgous range. They are superb quality stamps and were on offer for 3 for Ten pounds.
The second one was useing Lyndsey Mason stamps purched from Suzicraft and the third one was images printed from a Debbie Moore CD.

I will post more later.
Bye for now and Happy Craftingx

FUSSY AND FANCY BLOG CHALLENGE

I have just entered this card into the fussy and fancy blog challenge which is themed Pink and Black. there are some very talented crafters out there and there are some wonderful cards entered. Why not take a peek at http://fussyandfancychallenge.blogspot.co.uk/

This card was made on 8x8 splodge away easy ink cark stock. It was distressed in pink useing tim Holtz inks. The script was a dimensions stamp and the flower indigo blue stamp All stamped in versafine black ink. I used an x cut die to cut out the central shape in white and pink. to complete I have added a die cut swirtl and butterly sticker from my stash.

Well good day everyone. I hope. Not so much sunshine today but its peeking out and doesnt it make you feel better.

I thought I would share this thank you card I have made with you. I shouldnt really because the recipient hasnt received it yet! but as everything I am making at the moment is for Tom at Splodge Away. ( His next Show is on March 10th, Mothers Day. Probably on the tool shed but not sure yet) it doesnt seem like I have been doing much and hadnt a lot to share with you. I have made three similar ones for my three friends who I went to France with. As it was my birthday while I was there ( I may have mentioned this alread.lolx) They gave me my present while I was awy with them so I have bought them a little momento and made them a card each. We are having a get together next week so they will recieve them then

As they are not crafting buddies I am hopeing that they wont see this.

The card was obviously inspired by our visit but as coincidence would have it a crafting buddy happened to have a Graphic 45 pad of sepia pics depicting Paris! Guess where they ended up!

Take care everyone.

Another Tag.

Hi crafty friends and any other friends that pop by. I spent some hours down at Suzicraft a couple of days ago and this is what I made while I was there.I bought the Indigo Blue stamp from Suzicraft a couple of days before and was excited to try it out. I firstly stamped the lady with Versamark and then embossed with black wow powder. Next I distressed the tag. Once I was happy with that I used some of the other stamps in the set the finish the card. The swirl is really nice and i shadow stamped that. The Flower was made with my dimesions blooms stamp. coloured and the when glued togethere and dry I bought some narrow purple ribbon from Suzicraft and tied a knot in the end, threaded it through the centre of the flower , I then left a short length of ribbon and threaded other end through hole in tag. The flower therfore is not attached to the card but has movement. For the purpose of the photo I hooked it over the top of the tag so it wouldnt hide the artwork.

Hope you like.

IM BACK

Sorry bloggeers out there that there has been nothing new posted for a couple of weeks. I know you have been looking but my trip away with my buddies Carole, Marilyn, Diane and myself ( In order left to right in the photo threw me into chaos. Firstly I dont do Flying water and tunnels so as you can imagine this was a big thing for me. The solution to the nerves was to go into the buffet car on the Eurostar and get plastered. We did a pretty good job of it. I could sit here and talk for evermore about my trip as it was wonderful. We laughed from start to finish. Thank you my wonderful friends, but I wont bore you as I am sure that most of you have been to far more exotic places than my trip to Paris. Since comeing back it has been hard trying to get back into the swing but I have done a few things and have attached a tag I have have done stamping and colouring with H 2Os. I just love the shimmer effect of these. If you dont have H20s then you can mix mica powder with water and use as paint and get a very similar effect. I finished it off by useing disstress inks around the edge and useing my "Designs by Ryn" water droplet stamp. Hope you like it.

Splodge Away new Sceneit country mask.

This was one of the new masks on Create and Craft yesterday. I saw this one for the first time the day before and had a quick play in Suzicraft but made a mess of the house so I took the mask home and had a go last night. this was the result. So anyone who hasnt used the masks before can see the result you can get without any practice. They are amazing. Thanks Tom. I think I am going to send this one to my cousin in Australia. Now this is a bit risky as she is an artist and does fabulous landscapes so may be very critical as she will look at it with an artist eye!!!!!!

Tom was surrounded doing his demos and talking to the customers. Later I had a turn of doing my very first demo which I thouroughly enjoyed. I did the Poinsettia but in pinks and useing different techniques. The above picture shows the end results. I have splodged in pinks and satmped with a script stamp. Glittered and used pearl markers for spots.

ANOTHER ROCKER!

Another rocker card. Well I couldnt not do one when I had so many wonderful masks to play with. I thought this lent itself to a rocker as I think the image is a young one and I always think of little people when I make a rocker although a lot of my rockers were with adult images. ( Work that one out if you can)

The basics of the rocker card were the same but I rang the large circle through the Grand Calibur useing the star mask then keeping the mask in olace coloured the stars with pan pastels. I embossed the card and coloured it again but this time cut out some of the stars to embellish the stamped image which was a freebie from a stamping magazine.x

Sob sob. good news for DT members though as this gives us a bit more time to get some samples done. It was the Thursday morning coffee clubs xmas do today and they had a fun time with party hats, buffet and pass the parcel but still managed to craft. My visit was just fleeting for me ( A couple of hours. haha)

Good afternoon bloggers. Just thought I would get a quick blog in, inbetween cooking sunday lunch and share with you a card that I have made in batch that I will be sending to friends this year. Some may already have them as Cliff sends them as I make them. A great little production line. Very simple to make. I have used Sheena Douglas's a little bit sketchy feastive stamps for the Robin and Bow and a little worker stamp in holly from a Hobby Art Set.

I stamped the Robin ( and what great stamps they are very clean images, a pleasure to work with) and the bow then coloured with pro markers. (I cut pieces of card 4x4 for the robin) Then cut out the bows and edeged the white with red around the robins. before glueing onto my 6x6 cards I stamped the holly stamp around the edge of the card blank. Job done.

xmas cards

Hi bloggers well its been a while since I have been on here as I have been so busy. Like most people I dare say at this time of year. I have lots of cards to make and things to do. Last Friday I had a lovely day in York with some of my buddies and we had an amazing time. Lots of chat and wine with a little bit of shopping in between. The biggest laugh was that I went to York with two odd shoes on! Yes you read that right. Two odd shoes. It caused great hilarity when I realised and lots of laughs since.
The card I am sharing with you today is a one I am making for a friend. To make this I used Splodge Away Art Noveou 8x8 mask with so ordinations paper sanded back. The poinsettia was also made useing Splodge Away mask. The centre was a stamp I had in my stash. It is a wooden block one and I dont know who made it (I suspect it is creative expressions) but it stamps beautifully. It was then coloured with pro markers.

Hope you are all keeping warm dry and safe in this awful wet and windy weather.

Made useing THE REAL SPLODGEAWAY products

Hi bloggers just a quick post as I have been at Suzicrafts all day doing a Hougie Board class the the fabulous amazing and extremely funny Kay Rutter. Now I dont know if I am so tired through the drive, the hard work or just all the laughing I did. Whatever it was a great day. I have taken some photos but have decided to wait to post them until after I have made a project with the skills I learnt at the class!!!
Until then I would like to share another card that I made for Toms show last Sunday useing his daisy mask. This took quite a lot of doing as it was really difficult trying not to get gold specs on the black card. I have to say it took lots of attempts but in the end I felt it was worth it.

ANOTHER ROCKER

Hello bloggers. today I decided to spend doing nothing but crafting. Well it didnt quite work out that way as a few loads of washing went in etc but I still managed to make some inroads into my xmas cards. I loved this one so thought I would share it with you. I am quite into the rocker card at the moment and they are so simple to make if you have the Gran Nestabilities As you just cut out largest circle and fold in half for card. Next size down for insert and smallest two for topper.
I have decorated this one by useing my splodge mat to distress edge of main topper. And the stamps are from Hobby Art.

SAMPLES FOR SPLODGEAWAY

As soon as I saw this mask I knew what I was going to do with it. I immediately saw black and white and a cameo. to make this card I ran mask through calibar with coordinations cardstock in black and then sanded down. I also embossed a second time in white. I then cut the centre out. I cut the corners from the white embossed image and distressed with black soot and glued to the corners of the black image. The cameo was from a CD I have and I decoupaged the hat. Embossed with black wow powder. When sticking it down I tucked in some white feathers ( Cant really see them on picture) and a black hat pin. She was finished with a gem for her earing. The final touches were a white bow and a black gem in each corner.( I stuck these gems on after taking picture) lolx

Hobby Art and Butterfly Kisses

Just wanted to share this one with you as I so enjoyed making this one. This card also appeared on Splodge Away Show on C&C today. Jenny if you read this I love the stamps and dont get enough time to play with them. All you bloggers get yourself over to Hobby Art site and have a look.

A great big thank you goes to Tom and Susan at Suzicraft and Splodge Away who made me so welcome from the first time I walked into the shop and have given me the amazing opportunity to use there wonderfull products and be part of there design team. Big Hugsx

Variations on a Theme

Well I actually managed to get a serious start on some Christmas Cards today. It doesnt seem to matter what I have in my head to do I always end up reaching for the Splodgeaway snowflake mask or the Poinsettia mask. Today it was the snowflake teamed up with some Papermania stamps.
In my head every time I craft I tell challenge myself to use the scraps. The last card was the outcome. I just glued the strips of left over card then cut out two two inch squares and hey ho I had the base for another card and hardly any waste.
Well of to pack my cart as I am off to Suzicraft tomorrow to get my crafty fix.

WHAT A HOOT

When I go of on my visits to Sussex it would not be complete without  visit to either the Craft Barn or The Glitter Pot. Prefferably both. This time it was a quick visit to The Craft Barn and restricted to how much time I could spend in there as hubby and sister in law were in a coffee shop waiting for me before we went for our visit to tunbridge Wells.
Well it doesnt take long for me to spend money and I managed to buy three sets of stamps. One is a Hobby Craft Scene it which will have to go to one side for a later date and the other two were Woodware Stamps. One owls and one cats.
I was up early on my first day home and got the owl one out. (If you read this Tom note THE OWL) and the above is the finished results. Dont know if you can see on the picture but I also invested in some googly eyes which I have put on.

Need a Crafty Fix

Hi everyone. Just come back from sussex after a visit to celebrate my lovely great nephews first birthday and dedication to his church. Had an absolutely wonderful time. In sussex they have bonfire societies and they have parades the like of which I have never seen before to celebrate the anniversary of the gunpowder plot. I didnt take my camera with me and I so wish I had so I could have shared the spectacular with you as it was amazing. They parade with lit torches of fire and bannders of fire. they wear wondeful costumes and have amazing fireworks. I couldnt begin to describe. You really need to see them. I am sure if you do a search on the net you will find pictures somewhere.
As I didnt have a photo of them I have posted what was to have been my contribution to the November Splodge Away challenge but used another card instead. This one uses a Splodge Away mask for the snowflakes with the sparkle gel. Butterfly kisses stamps embossed in white with white Pan Pastels to createe the snowy forground. Finished with some Christmas ribbon. It was a bir of an experiment as I did it all on Navy Blue card. Hope you like it.
