Splodge Away Sample

ONE OF MY FAVOURITES.

ONE OF MY FAVOURITES.

Good morning. Well I dont know about where you live but what started out to be a
beautiful warm sunny morning has turned into a rather dull slightly chilly day. Well never  mind as I dont feel so bad sitting crafting on a dull day. I love my crafting but I adore the sunshine and love to be outdoors in nice weather.
Today I am busy doing some samples for the Crafty Bloggers Network which I will share with you when they go live but for now I thought I would share with you another of my samples that I did for Splodge Away. This was just a simple little card but was one of my favourites. Hope you like it too.

PS Susan is busy showcasing the samples from the C& C show so why dont you pop over to the blog and get inspired. There is some amazing work there.

Create and Craft inspiration for Splodge Away

XMAS HOUSE

This is my house made of Splodge board shapes that featured on create and craft yesterday. Tom gave me some to do samples for the show and I immediately decided that I was  going to make a scene out of them and asked Tom if he would cut me a house shape. He did and this was the result. the splodge board seems to accept all types of mediums and was grea to work with. The roof of the house was made useing Splodge Away bick wall mask and the eves and backing were xmas papers from a magazine I have had for who know how long. the shapes were mainly coloured with distress inks but I also used some spray and sparkle, gilding waxes, pearl markers and glue and glitter. The glue all the parts together I used glossy accents. The reason for this was because I know it has a good bond and dries fairly quickly and as I hadnt used the board before I felt most confident with this.

This one was the nativity scene made from the Splodge board. I also mounted this onto a frame and although it s not obvious from the picture it has a hanger made from ribbon and twine. for those of you who are observant  )lolx)  and watched create and craft it was sitting on an easel behind Tom and Nigel. Below it was a card that was very similar but useing the mask. The sentiment which I stamped on is one of my favourites. Next is the other one that got a good showing my christmas pudding card. To make this I cut off one of the puddings on the pudding border, inked it with brown adirondack and ran through the e bosser. I did this several times. I then glued and glittered the top half of the puccing and cut them out and formed wreather of puddings in the centre leaving enough room to make the bow flower in the centre. this was real fun to make and one of those cards that you are so pleased with when its done. Hope you like it too.

Well I think I am in danger of going on and on and boring the pants off everyone so I am going to save some for later. I will blog again tomorrow with some more of my Splodge Away Samples.  To see more of the lovely creations watch the Splodge Away blog over the next few day. Just follow this link.

SPLODGEAWAY AT NISSAN

Ross Paper Craft Show

Good morning everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend.I spent Sunday at the Ross Paper Craft Show at Nissan in Sunderland helping out on the Splodge Away Stand. Tom and Susan worked very hard and designed a fabulous stand. it was amazing and they got loads of compliments so it made it all worth while. It was a hugely busy day from start to finish and I even did some demonstrating.  We met some lovely people and if any of you read this thank you for helping us make our day so successfull and worth while. It was hard trying to get some decent pics of the stand but these are the few I managed to get. Oh and the show was honoured with the presence of Hels Sheridon!!!!! She was visiting in the area and called in at the show . Lovely to see her.

Hope you all have a good day.

HARRY TUTORIAL

Meet Harry,s Mate

Hi Everyone. Hope you are all keeping well and making the most of the lovely weather. ( Appart from that massive deluge of rain we had the other day that is.) Anyway I did say that if requested I would post a brief tutorial of how to make Harry and so I shall as he proved to be extremely popular. Now why wouldnt he be. I have taken a series of photos step by step as I made it and I hope you can follow this. if not let me know and I will help. Well here goes.

This is how Harry started out. Any small paper backed book will do. About the size of a Mills and Boon

You open your book and fold the first page in half.

You then fold the page from the right over to the crease. A bit like making a paper aeroplane.

You then repeat this until you have folded every page in the book.

This is how it looks when you are part way through.

This is how it looks when all pages are folded. Can you see Harry coming to life?

And here he is. To complete you cut off the excess of the base. I then stuck it onto a piece of brown card and trimmed to shape. This gives it some stability and also hides the book cover. Useing pinflair glue I then stuck on some eyes and a nose out of buttons. Simplze! told you it was.

Hope you all enjoyed and I would love to see any Harrys that you make. You may be pleased to hear that Harrys mate has gone to a very good home at Suzicrafts in Stockton upon Tees.

Good Night

In the meanwhile I would like to share with you a card I made today. I have eventually got round to plauing with my stamps that i bought on my hols. this one was bought in a gorgeous shop called Snazzys. it is by Chocolate Baroque and is called clockwork butterfly. Just a quick recipe for you. I have stamped the corners with versfine and painted with mica powders, stamped the butterflies in the centre with versamark and embossed in clear and then dusted with tattered rose and milled lavender distress inks. I then stamped the flower and again painted with mica powders. Bothe the base card and the rose were layered onto black card. i wrapped a piece of ribbon around the card and made a bow to the right and placed three pearl gems to the left. before glueing my flower to the centre of the card. Hope you like.
